Has anyone does this or planning to do it over the winter period?
A couple of months ago me and odvan were knocking a few balls into our 18th green. I was trying to hit a fade and he was trying to draw. Against our usual shot shapes. Both with good results.
Went to the practice area and kept this feeling going. Next day on the comp I was playing rubbish until the 13th when I holed out for a hole in 1.
Since then I decided I would pretty much try and hit all my irons with a fade. Seems to be doing the trick. At the start of the year I was hitting everything with big slingy hooks. Sometimes over doing it, sometimes getting it right. This fade shot seems much more in control.
Done quite a bit of work getting my driver to fade too. I've had to weaken my left hand grip quite a bit to get this working but starting to see some improvement in this area.
I still prefer to hit woods and hybrids with a draw but most shots now I am picturing a fade flight.
My fade swing is more than likely just an OTT swing but if it repeats and gives me the desired shape and hits target I am not that bothered.
Anyone else done similar or moved from fade to draw this year. I made similar improvements a few years ago when I went from biggest slicer in the world to stone cold hooker.
A lot of fun was had during the process.
