Anyone been to the Mar Hall new track?

Dodger, I was down the other day while at work and its still no where near ready, they blame a lack of finance and the rather wet summer for the delay. It was meant to be ready n the summer.

It looks quite a good track going by the plans and website guff and its in a nice location.

Kilmacolm is nice but very short. Pop over to my place, its 10 minutes from both Mar Hall and Kilmacolm. Ranfurly is a decent track. I can sign you guys on.

Erskine is not bad either. Some very nice holes especially down the bottom of the course but also a couple of micky mouse doglegs!

May take you up.....we are going over to Machrahanish mid May for an open, plan is to play somewhere around that neck of woods on the Friday, then pop over to Bute and stay in our house over there then head on by 2 boat trips to Machrahanish early saturday, head back to Bute saturday late evening, few ales with the mad locals saturday night then have a game at Rothesay Sunday before heading home.

Well the offer is there. Either that I let me know and I will try and get you a discount at Rothesay through Jimmy or I can sign 3 of you on at Rothesay.

You may be shocked at how poor Rothesay is though!!!! Be warned!

Ta Craw,I know Jimmy well through his folks coming from my area so should be sorted there.....I have not been for a while but will keep my ear to the ground on conditioning,my dad said the same early in the year but recently said it had got better so hope it'll be okay as I love the course and the views are to die for.

Like Scotty says on Star Trek,

"Captain, she canny take any more"

(rain that is!)

I think they will do well not to totally lose the th, 11th, 12 and 14th greens. They are f****d!

My mate is one of the greenkeepers at Mar and says it is coming on. As Craw says the rain hasn't helped. The owner plays it most weekends and should be ready late spring summer time. But as with all new course leaving a few years may be the best plan.
