Sounds good, I reckon they will look at spin rates/carry on a trackman. Whe I was at Titleist for a club fitting they also suggested the nest ball too based on those kind of stats.

How did you hear about it?

Ball fitting? What next...tee fitting? Score marker pen fitting?.
Titliest Pro v if you can seriously hit the ball, if not I really don't think you'll notice apart from the sound.
But if it's free enjoy.

But then not everyone is a low handicapper, i tried the pro v and found that it was not for me when i played of 14, now i play the AD333 and it is the best ball i have tried and i have tried a few.

That's one of the reasons why Titleist can sell so many Pro Vs at prices significantly above equivalent balls!

Personally, as long as distance is not hugely different, it's feel around/on the green that's most important to me. The chrts on the back of boxes actually do give a good indication of their suitability.

You know what you're right, I think I'll just cancel it and buy a box of Pro V1's

I went to a Srixon ball fitting last year, it could have been good but it wasnt looking back on it. I think we were rushed though a bit. I got a lot of free balls so I cant moan and I did buy them for a while but have found better with my own testing.

You will enjoy it though..

Yes he is absolutely right.

A ball fitting? Quite possibly the most stupid thing I have ever heard in the utterly ridiculous world of golf marketing.

Off 18 handicap (in fact off just about any handicap I would say), the ball is just about irrelevant. If you played with random balls you found on the course for 3 rounds then the next 3 rounds you use whatever ball your "fitter" recommends then I would bet a lot that your scores are just about identical and if not, then the ball would not be the critical factor anyway.

I will back this up with an example. A few summers ago, I played golf every Wednesday with a mate off plus 2. We always made it a fun round and added a bit of a wild card element to level things up a bit. Persimmon woods, 1 irons for every tee shot etc. These included a few rounds where we had to select a ball for each other to play with with the only rule being that it had to be new from the pro shop.

His normal ball was a Titleist Pro V1. Over the 3 rounds that I recall, I bought him a Wilson Staff Titanium Distance, a Pinnacle Lady in pink and a Top Flite XL2000 lake ball. Every round he played these balls with was under par. With the Wilson, he shot 5 under and chipped in twice!

Surely this illustrates that your golf game is not about what ball you play? It is about the golfing skill and mental fortitude that you have.

Still, if it is free and you get to play on a Trackman then it sounds like you are going to enjoy it which is great. If it is just a bit of fun then why not. If though you are going with the view that it is going to help your golf in any way whatsoever then you must be mad and are a golf marketeer's idea of perfection.

I went to the Bridgestone Ball fitting at my club, the guy started by asking me what I currently used which I think at the time was the callaway ix tour balls.
He got me to hit a few of them with one of these launch monitor/trackman gizmo's set up and then a few with bridgestone's offerings he then showed me the difference in flight/distance on a nice little colour printout graph thing.
Looked all very impressive on paper.

He then explained a bit about the balls then gave me away a sleeve of the B330s (blue packet) and Ive never looked back!

Cant fault them, There as good as Pro V and cost roughly a tenner a dozen less.
