Where do you play in St Neots. Whilst not available tomorrow, could easily meet up one weekend.

Abbotsley/Cromwell

I'm a member of cromwell but play abbotsley frequently aswell.

As i've only been playing a year i find the cromwell course much easier to score well on. Abbotsley can rip you to pieces on an off day.

HI Minty.
I live in bedford but am busy work wise at the moment
we will have to sort out a day out for all who live in our area.Im sure there must be a few interested in a get together for a day out.I played Thorpe wood in peterborough on saturday and it was in good condition considering the amount of rain weve had.
I played my course on sunday(Mowsbury)at it was like a bog)
need a few days dry weather to sort it out.

Hope we can get a day sorted for a few of us.

If we were looking to arrange I game I can play in the St Neots area any weekend. I am only about 40 minutes away. I am familiar with Wyboston, not played the course but been to the lakes and my firm has an office round the corner. Not heard of the others but as the number of courses I have played is pretty small (8) I am willing to give anywhere a go.
If anyone is interested by the way got a text from Direct Golf and there is a big demo and promotional day this Saturday.

GB, if you are only 40 mins away that widens the zone as I could equally get to you. tpred, you must be even closer.

Options for courses,
any of our home courses
Thorpe Wood - cheap and usually in good condition
John O'Gaunt - £37 weekday or weekend, two courses (not played it but has quite a good rep in the area)

more suggestions please

GB72, I thought that the super demo day at direct golf Cambridge was last saturday, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure this is the case. The next 'super' demo day isn't until 14th June according to their website.

Viscount, I nominate you to arrange this. I'm sure we could get atleast a fourball to meet up, maybe even two fourballs.

Like the rest of you I dont mind travelling to another course. Would be great to play one none of us have played before.

Need ideas for venues guys, I'm pretty new to this. Lots of options including ones to avoid, budget etc.

Plus some idea of timescale; weekdays or weekends (I can't usually do Sunday), periods to avoid (you're off to Spain soon aren't you minty?).

Might be a bit far for you all, but has anybody played the Peter Alliss designed, Cambrdige Meridian course? It's about 6 miles West of Cambridge and offers good rates (£28 for adults I think), an interesting challenge and all in all a pretty good day of golf. Only trouble is it is prone to flooding, and with the recent rain levels some areas of the course may still be a bit soggy. Worth you giving it a thought though.

My knowledge is more North of where we are looking. Have played both Thorpe Wood and Orton Meadows in Peterborough, other than those happy to travel out towards St Neots etc it needs be.

Yeah, sorry about that, now see that the text is from the Lincoln store. Was not expecting a text from them as not been there in ages on principle as you have to pay the best part of a fiver per bucket of balls if you want to try a club.

St Neots sounds like the ideal location then as easily reachable for members in Hertfordshire as well as those in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Rutland

I'm on holiday the first two weeks in may so cant play then. Any other date with enough notice is fine for me.

It'd be good to put a few faces to names.

I am available pretty much any weekend but will need a bit of notice for a weekday.

Have the odd 2fore1 voucher sitting around that work on some of the suggested courses as well.

If it were not for the distance for most and the fact that I can only sign 3 in I would gladly invite you all to Stoke Rochford.
