guys, having issues with syncing my calender to my iphone. in itunes i have it set to sync over wifi and sync my calender, however i go into the phone and it tells me i have to plug a cable in, go to itunes and turn on "sync over wifi" when i do, its already set!

Starting to really annoy me.. am i doing something stupid? cant use icloud for it as it says it will over write my exchange data.. we use google apps at work, but i have it loaded up as an exchange server for mail and calender etc.. does this matter?

Try forcing a manual sync from the iOS device by going to Settings > General > iTunes Wi-Fi Sync > Sync Now

Also disable the use of cellular data in Settings > General > Cellular > iTunes > OFF

If you have a Gmail account, just use the mail set up for gmail?

Also, have you got 1. The latest version of iTunes 2. The latest iOS 6.1.3 (iPhone 4S or earlier) 6.1.4 (iPhone 5)

also, also,...go to info on the iPhone on iTunes and try syncing the mail accounts from there.

Just a thought Scott ;)

Decide not to be a slave to Apple, sell Apple products and replace with superior Android equivalent, then have simple process to sync with googlemail/googlecalendar (did it yesterday took me 30 seconds lol)

:p

Agreed, get a Galaxy s4..download some apps, then pay for all the data charges because the app doesnt shut properly because its been built by a 15 year old boy and not QA'd by google prior to release.

All software versions up to date. Your first suggestion is what I can't do, it's telling me to set it I. iTunes, which I have! I use the gmail app for personal email so want them separate...

You can have them seperate in the native app, it works very well and saves installing a seperate app. Which calendar are you trying to sync, is it your gmail one?

So i have work email (based on google) as my main mail account on iphone, set up through exchange on ios.
Personal email through the Gmail app
I am trying to sync my work calender, so when i make a meeting in outlook (again, outlook is front ending google) on my PC, it updates to my phone. has always worked before working for this company. currently i have to connect the cable and sync manually and its a pain...

Does that make sense?

Absolutely, if its just the calendar you want from your work you should be able to do this

Settings >> Mail,Contacts,Calendars >> select the mail account you want >> the turn the calendar tab from off to on and your calendar will sync over the air automatically.

Go wash your android device parafin and whte spirit, then when you are done, place the now clean device on the ground and set on fire, upon realising you've been duped, attempt to extinguish the flames with a sledge hammer :D  Android dirty dirty horrible google snooping rubbish.

And before anyone asks, no I do not like Android phones.
