that is disgusting. I don't condone making a mint off a golf ball thrown into the crowd. Some kid should get it and it should ignite their desire to take up golf.

I know there are a number of professionals who will only sign things for kids because they know that adults will slap it on ebay to make a profit, which they don't like.
For some reason, possibly difficult for me to explain, it doesn't sit well with me.

Th black marking he has put on next to the Nike swoosh is messy. That would annoy me. The dots I put on balls have to be neat and tidy. It is a hard life living with OCD you know.

Don't see a huge problem. The guy that caught it has made some money, may help to send his kids to university or pay for his parents in a care home, or may help to fund his crack addition. Who knows, but best of luck to him.
If the golfers want to stop this then they can give the ball to a charity or museum, but they didn't so I imagine they have no problem with this. If someone is prepared to pay for it then it has a price.

There is a whole industry regarding 'celebrity memorabillia'. If people wish to pay for owning an item I see nothing wrong with another party selling said item. Supply and demand pure and simple.

Fair play to someone who saw an opportunity to exploit some idiots. Although I would rather have seen the proceeds go to charity. I do wonder though if any of the bidders have been part of Gerrys syndicate that won big looking for a souvenir
