A friend is getting 60 next year, in the second half of April....Any suggestion for where to spend a week or two for golf and also have access to other activities as food, culture and so on.

Madeira could be worth a look. Or South of France. Thailand is super, but watch the weather. Cyprus or Turkey too.

My good lady bought flights to Edinburgh, 2 nights at Gleneagles, a game on the Ryder Cup course and a playing lesson with a pro on the Kings Course - I wasn't too upset about her pressy!

Turkey!
Food is amazing expecially if your a little adventurous, culturally it's a fascinating country and the golf is superb by all accounts. I haven't played golf over there but did go on a family holiday and loved it. Our former pro does golf breaks in the winter there and everyone comes back raving about it.

Golf in Pattaya Thailand is wonderful, I had 6 rounds over there in December, fantastic weather, courses were good to great, so easily organized as well, there are numerous ex pat golf societies over there, usually based at a bar, simply sign up and arrive at bar to be picked up to be taken to the course, luxurious club houses etc and tremendous value for money. On some courses you have to have a buggy (often can be shared) little more than £5 each or £10 alone, I paid between £30 to £50 all in per round. Total cost for those 6 games was about £240.
I played out of this club/bar, very well organized and highly recommended, friendly guys

Thanks for your proposals..... Lisboa or florida can also be an option,,,Lisboa is not so long flight and the city offers a lot including golf and april can be a good period to be there...............

Depends how important weather and quality of golf are. If you really want sun and warmth, then you probably need to go to the Algarve, Costa del Sol, Cyprus, Florida or Turkey. Dubai will be getting too hot by then. Florida will be pretty warm too.

Lisbon is a good location if the weather is good. South if Lusbon, Aroeira is a good resort and Troia is a man sized links. North of Lisbon there is good golf in the Setubal area and up to Praia del Rey about an hour north of Lisbon.

Loads of options depending on budget, travelling time, facilities other than golf. Turkey has a lot of good reports from a large number of our members who have made several trips per year there
