So with the new season fast approaching even on the wet courses , they will be dry and you will be golfing soon ,
has anyone planned to do anything different than last or previous years ?

At the start of the season last year i got too hung up on lowering my handicap , ok lowering the handicap is a good thing but i think the fact i go so hung up on it , it had the opposite effect , i tried lessons last year for the first time , not for me , too much going on in the head standing over the ball ..

So this year i hope to approach the season with a fresh mind , safe in the knowledge i can birdie any hole on the course i plan on playing each round hole by hole , the back 9 and closing holes will be played the same whether i turn under or over par ..

if i have a good score going late on im not going to kick into safe , lets not make mistake mode , its going to be i played well to be in this position im going to keep playing the same way ..

Is there anything different about the way you plan to approach your golf this year ?

Playing more competitions.

Over the last few seasons I've been relying on monthly medals and Stablefords to get my handicap lower.

This year I'm going to play much more 'meaningful' golf in some of the club competitions.

I intend to play more 18 hole rounds of golf this year unlike the 14/15 holers I was playing last year, so far I've had 2 rounds that would have merited cuts and a couple of 36 and 35 pointers so I'm already ahead of last year!

Im going to purchase a low bounce wedge for the summer.
At the moment I own a 52/10 and 58/12 so im going to get
a 58/4.
I think this year is going to be my most golfing year to date.
Entering a lot more opens, and having a few more away days including Woodhall Spa,K of K final
day and HFH.
Really looking forward to it.

I was hoping to just play without putting too much pressure on myself. But I'm desperate to lower my handicap and can already see that plan going out the window.
No qualifiers til end of March, and I'm missing the first one, so that's the first opportunity gone

Try also not to get hung up on the number handicap-wise. I'd love to get to single figures this year but need to stop putting so much pressure on myself to do so. I so wish I didn't care so much what I play off as in fact an extra shot or two often comes in handy

Coming back to the game for the second time this year , so i plan to stick at it , im a kack handed player but it just works for me and always has , the plan is just to enjoy it and dont get anoyed with it as we play the game for fun not money

Joined a new club, aim to play a comp' virtually every week and play more golf in the evenings after work.

In other words: play more golf!

More time at the range & more time at the short game practise area.

Need to work on course management a lot more as well during my non-comp rounds. Hopefully that will bring down the handicap, but not going to get too hung up on my handicap like I did last year.
