Any other 'musicians' out there?

So apart from the golf and sailing, my other interest is guitars. Just wondered if there was anyone else on here with a musical 'bent'?

Having recently bought an iMac, and since my divorce, have acquired an electric guitar which I haven't played for ten years. I'd thought I'd try to record something. I only picked up this song a few days ago, so it's a bit 'raw', but what the heck!

Anyone else prepared to put up their efforts?

I hate U2 (Bono), but that was awesome!

I have done a couple of studio tracks.

Here is one I just figured out how to upload (John Mayer's Slow Dancing in a Burning Room): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10MivTa5JYU (feat. my good mate Jamie on lead guitar, everything else is me).

There's also a few dodgy "me and my guitar" uploads on my youtube account.

Says the video is private.

And here is the other studio track:

Jason Mraz's "Remedy". This was done the same day, but after a full day of getting the Mayer track nailed, I had half an hour remaining and this was done in 1 take, just me and my guitar. It's a bit (a lot!) auto-tuned as my voice was utterly ruined doing the various vocal tracks for "Slow Dancing..."!

Try again. stupid youtube!

Aztecs, if thats you then you are very talented. I have played for around fifty years now, did play classic for a while but dont spend much time these days. Still have some nice guitars, fav is my Gretsch Chet Atkins.

Played drums for 10 - 15 years up until 2010, gigged regularly at weekends with various cover bands. Packed in as I was fed up with the usual band politics, people leaving, the usual stuff, just kinda got fed up with it all. The last band I was in had a female singer who was an alcoholic, she used to verbally abuse the crowd as the night went on lol.
Just mess around with home recording now, I have a couple of guitars but I can barely play a power chord ha ha.
Mainly metal inspired now, my neighbour is an excellent metal singer and we sometimes have a few beers and rig up the mics when the missus is out.
I ain't posting any songs mind, they're definitely not for the faint hearted ;)

I've played guitar for a good few years - although I don't think I've got anything of me playing on t'internets ...

However, I did sing in this godawful band back when I was 17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=gvP-lHePeC0#t=106s

I was in no way responsible for the mixing of this track (in particular the snare drum) and joined the band after the lyrics were written ...

It's great reading about others experiences on here. Just goes to prove that we're not all one dimensional golfers.;)

After Aztecs rather superior efforts, I felt my effort was (and is) appalling. But as a first time effort on a single take, ah well. So this morning, I'd thought I'd try multi layering using Garageband. Never done anything like it before in my life. And as I might have mentioned, I only started learning this song last week, and only have just picked up an electric guitar after ten years of not playing. Not that I was any good back then either!!!:D

This multi layering thing helps to give a much fuller sound. It also helps with the fact that I can't move my fingers fast enough to get all the notes. So breaking it down into four different 'layers', really helped. But yes, it is all me with regard to the guitar work.

Just scroll down the link a little and it's there!!
