Have dropped my cobra hybrids from my bag as not getting on with them at moment.. so rather bizzarely now go from driver to 5 iron but really need something in between so wondering whether a driving iron or would I be better with a 4 iron any thoughts

I've been thinking bout dropping my hybrid in exchange for a driving iron. I seem to hit my hybrids left all the time but all other clubs are pretty straight. So must be the hybrid. Have looked at the callaway utility but looks chunky but I'm likening the look of the Titleist 712u and the mizuno h4 looks good also. Really debating if I should switch.

Driving irons seem to be back in fashion now.

Bigslice has a lovely looking Adams DHY Super thingy which promises the forgiveness of a hybrid, but the workability of an iron. Lovely looking thing and he hit it rather well.

What was the problem with your hybrids?

Can you hit fairway woods off the deck?

I recently ditched my rescue 11 18* and replaced it with a ping i20 3 iron to match my set that I got bent to 18.5* by my pro, so pretty much a 2 iron.

I find it much more accurate and a lot easier to set back in the stance and hit low running draws that roll out a long way in current conditions. Also very easy off the deck.

fantastic club off the tee too.

a lot of hyrbids have a natural draw bias. ie slightly closed face. try opening it up slightly. just a thought.

I got a hybrid as a 2 iron out of wet semi is nigh impossible, however this dry weather and some links golf has it at the pro shop for a new grip- looks like a sliver of metal on the end of a thin stick after all these years in the garage

My Ping i15 hybrid sit slightly open and have a fade bias but still hit them left not by lots but enough to miss the green. Will see if I can try a driving iron to compare

I was untill this year a big fan of the 2 and 3 iron, but since i got my GI JPX Pro, i have embraced all things forgiving. I now have a2 & 3 hybrid in the bag. I got the 2 iron out last week for game a Fortrose and was terrible with it... so its gone back under the stairs.

I replied before about using a strong 3 iron.....I thought that my bag was set for the foreseeable future until I used an Adams DHY 18* yesterday!

I only really tried it as it had the white tie shaft. So easy to hit off the tee.

worth a try for anyone.
