If so, how is your adjustment to the anchoring ban going?

Couple of guys at my club use them. One is a top amateur, who is a multiple club champion so it'll be interesting to see how he gets on. He's no youngster, so it'll be a tough change I guess.

We have a couple of guys use them at my place, one has said without the long putter he would have to give up as the game is no fun for him with a short putter. Ive also a friend thats a member at Gullane who has a long and short putter in his bag, uses the long one for 10 feet and in. Just means he will have room for something else as well now.

Perhaps golf isn't the right game for him. If I was told that all I could use was a broken walking stick, I would still enjoy the game, and just get on with it.

he was a good player, got the yips bad.

can't have been nice being a cat1 player that never missed a fairway or green then 3 or 4 putting on every hole, thats not fun. not seen him for a while so maybe he's already packed in

Sad story, wish I had an answer to the problem. That said, I would never had banned in the first place. I was told the other day that many years ago there were putters that were swung from between your legs. These were also meant to make putting to easy, so were banned.

Not sure we have more than one or two members I'm aware of that have used the long putters and I doubt too much whether they'll have played much so far this year. One is a senior so I'm not sure how he'll cope or why he went to the longer version to start with. I hope anyone that has changed has a good season with a new style or new putter. It's such a hard thing to do well consistently
