Any idea what my Ping G10 irons are worth?

I'm looking to sell my Ping G10 steel (stiff) shaft irons. 4-PW. Black dot, standard length, white sized grip, full cord grips, mint condition, just 1 year old.

I'm going to get myself some nice new i15 irons :-)

I'm not sure where the best place is to find out just what they're worth. I see snainton golf are selling them for £409.

Do you think £300 is a sensible amount to ask for them?

Golfbidder (notoriously pricey but good) have them from £260 so wanting £300 would be a big ask.

If they are in good nick then £200 at a stretch on ebay would be reasonable I think.

I've been looking for some Ping irons but think I will go with the I15's myself.

After looking on completed EBay listings G10 irons are going for between £250-£300 some as low as £200 all secondhand. I know Golfbidder flog half decent sets for £300-50ish so they would no doubt offer you £175 for them.

Have you asked about part ex with the shop you are buying the new ones from?

Haven't thought about that. Although I'll probably advertise them on the notice board of my local club first.

Thanks

They're in mint condtion. Just had a look on ebay and completed listings have been selling for about £250

Thanks

Have a look on usedping.co.uk as well. I have used them in the past and they are a lot better than golfbidder IMO.

I've looked at that sight but not bought anything. I like the fact they advise on shafts and stuff in the discription.

Thanks Parmo.

I think £270 is probably about right.

Parmo,

I have used them a couple of times buying and selling and they certainly provide a far better/more comprehensive service than golfbidder and the prices from both angles were better. Again IMO. They certainly seemed to be concerned with customer service and kept me updated fully.

I've got to say I love the look of the S57's.
Might go along and try some - you don't need to be extra good to play these do you?

The S57's do look sexy like. I am not sure to go for either the G15's or I15's, I am a good ball striker but worry the I15's might be too much for me but the G15s are too chunky as I had some MX19's and they didnt last long due to there sole width.

I paid £299 for mine from a local golf store. 4-SW standard black dot with ping steel shafts. They were 4 months old and mint condition and this was just before the G15's came out when the new G10s were still retailing at £499.

If they are in good nick I'd look for £200-£250. They are still £500 irons only a year old but clubs can be a bit like cars once a new model is out.

Parmo,

At best I'm pretty erratic but I found the I15's a joy to hit. If it hadn't been for the TM sales rep being in AG when he was and me getting a deal on the R9's plus the chance to have them 2 weeks before their official launch I'd definitely have got the I15's instead

I didn't find them too hard to hit at all including the 3 iron. All I can suggest is go out and try them. I think you have the game for them

Imurg,

They are a beautiful looking club and believe me are easy to hit and are forgiving. I changed from an i5 iron and certainly don't believe I am anywhere close to extra good and I just love hitting these irons. The feel of the clubface compared to my old irons is superb.

The smaller clubhead takes a bit of getting used to and if anything there is a more noticeable difference in distance when you strike them out of the middle.

I would certainly urge you to try them out.

Have had I5 and I10 in the past - the I15 are absolutely fantastic and I particularly like the new style Ping Grips which are gorgeous to use.

Was offered £225 for my I10's - but hanging on to them as a spare set. So £200 - £225 is about right I would say.

The only thing was that I couldnt get a 2 Iron in the I15 and had to order an additional 3 Iron as it came only with a 4 iron up. Being a bit(?!!?) windy at my club I like to use the long irons in the winter and still use a 1 iron now and again from the I5 set.

The Ping tour W wedges are also the business and preferred them to the Vokey spin milled - for me anyway
