Thinking of adding one with Titleist/Callaway putting these into play recently, for me a 3h goes around the same as 4h,and TBH a 5w off the deck is not really my cup of tea either. Was thinking of putting one of these in at 18 degrees for the low shot off the tee, played a lot in wind this year and pretty sure this would have done a job for me.
Anyone here play one? And do you think a graphite shaft would suit more.

p.s the TM speedblade 3i is 17 degrees so could do the job as well

3 iron is my favourite club, you can hit it high-ish and low. Great off the tee into a wind as the hybrids are designed for more height.

Seriously! There new '3 iron' is stroner than a 2 iron?

I've used a Callaway x-14 pro series 2 iron for several years. I swear by it, the most trusty club in my bag off the tee. It's good for low punches off the fairway too.

I have a Cally Utility Proto X 18 (2iron).... played maybe 4 rounds with it the tail end of this year when it started to get wetter underfoot, and god damn it flies! Super buttery feeling on ball contact, not actually had to use it off the deck yet, but can't wait to get back out next season and go again with it.

Shaft wise.... always go hit them! The steel is def harder/heavier to hit. I searched high and low for a 6.5PX graphite and finally got one from ebay for under a £100

I like the look of that Adams Super DHY effort.....

I agree, they look very nice.

As do the Callaway effort (utility pro?).

Going to try one out I think, been messing around with an old ping eye 2 iron and can see the benefits.

Plus, I'm much better with irons than fairway woods or hybrids.

Oh yeah, my good friend and European Tour Pro Tom Lewis had one in his bag at Gainsborough. He was a bit non-committal when I asked him for his opinion as it was quite new in his bag.

As an aside, my good friend Tom Lewis had to swing a left-handed driver on one hole for a laugh and he said that "this is how Dave feels when he swings a driver". Oh Tom! You're always joshing me like that! You funny lad!

I have a Mizuno FliHi 18*, love it on links courses from either tee or fairway

I had a swing with thepodgsters left hand driver. I couldn't even make contact with the ball. :o

I will await for the TM release ( then the collective cries of complaint ) ;)

Look at what is in my bag. Those MP-H4 are fantastic, got mine custom fitted at same time as buying my irons. The 2i is really nice to hit and you can actually get them out of the short rough quite nicely. I would definatly recommend these to anyone.
