Afternoon all!

Yet anothe desperate cry for a golf course that is open! Looking to play on Monday, on a nice-ish course, somewhere between Bournemouth and Basingstoke.

All recommendations gratefully received! We were looking at Purbeck, or Brokenhurst, but as they are both closed today, trying to make a back up plan!

My course should be open with only the last on a temp as working on the drainage of the green.

Royal Winchester GC, chalk based so drains really well.

Ohhh, I got so excited then, until i saw it was £50 a round during the week!!

Probably can't go abover £35 I think.

Any idea if South Winch is good at draining?

you could try Hayling island, Hockley or Barton on Sea they will definitely be open.

If it stops raining Brok will be open, but it probably will have some temps

Dorset Golf & Country club (the old east dorset) nr wareham will probably be open with no temps

My course was still open last time I saw, haven't been up since Sunday .... website is usually uptodate but always best to phone beforehand.

Hockley will be open, another chalk based course. Not sure about the green fee, might bust your budget but worth a phone call. Failing that, try either Meyrick Park or Queens Park in Bournemouth, both drain well

Played a course called hurtmore in goldaming at the weekend. The drainage must be fantastic as there is no signs its been raining at all! Beginners course though.

Played there once during last years damp spell and it was nice and dry. I reckon it could be tough if the greens were cut to be quick rather than heavy traffic friendly.

The thing which put me off going back though was the seven ball tearing up the fairway in / on 2 buggies!

Another mention for Weybrook, its my home track and will be as dry as anything in the area, no temps and a good test especially if the wind is blowing.

Godalming is where Waverley Council is based and Waverley BC seem to have a big downer on Farnham so wouldn't surprise me if Hurtmore haven't been able to send all their surface water to us 10miles away :)
