Hello everyone,

I'm sure there have been thread like this in the past but I'm looking for any golf clubs in the North East that are having pest problems.

We are a team of two airgunners that use silenced airguns to legally and humanely dispatch pests such as rabbits. We can shoot either early morning before opening or at night with lamps.

We currently have a permission at a rugby club but after a few months of shooting there hasn't been any rabbits to be seen recently so we are looking for another permission which can make use of our skills.

We are both located near Newcastle and due to our work schedules can shoot during the week as well as weekends. At the rugby club we did 2 shoots a week and that seemed to clear the problem!

If you're interested or know someone who may be, please reply to this thread or email me: alastair.cummings(at)gmail.com

Sorry if this is considered spam but hopefully we can help a club out.

Thanks!

Alastair

Mate just cos someone cannot get below 15 handicap there is no reason to go around humanly shooting them, I agree they are a pest though. ;)

If you can shoot moles give the hallgarth a bell

We use a couple of guys to do this at our course. It's been mostly successful, but they are on a break at the moment as one of them managed to break his leg (nothing to do with shooting). The rabbit population is growing again now !

Does a slow playing group in fron count as 'pests'? :D

And how about Canada Geese! Though, like all animals, their offspring look cute!

Reading the OP i had the same thought in my head

Great minds ...

:D They just don't give up, even the river flooding hasn't killed them off. My dad used to run the local football team many years ago, he used to drive his VW Jetta onto the pitch, stick a hose on the exhaust and stick it down a hole, simple but effective.

I caught one in my garden a couple of years back too, it had evaded my traps for months so I staked it out for hours one night and actually dug it out. It died if shock before I could rehouse it though. I actually felt a bit sad :(

Moles eh?

I think baiting and trappng is the best solution for moles. Airguns aren't suitable unfortunately as they will mostly be underground and it's unlikely shooting will make a dent in their population. If they have any issue with rabbits then I'm sure we could help out and maybe even get a few lucky moles along the way.

I may drop them an email anyway. Thanks!

We have quite a large seniors section that could do with trimming down, can you help with that? Should be easy targets as they are very slow moving
