Is when I look at some peoples sigs and see a succession of 0.1 increases in handicap. It helps me realise that this game doesn't just pick on me, a run of poor form happens to loads of players. I understand this may sound a bit lame, but mental strength is not my forte, and any crutch
is welcome.
It's very easy to be excessively self absorbed, and this observation helps keep things in proportion.

mark, whats very obvious is if you look at peoples sigs as you say the run of 0.1+ could be over 4/5/6 comps, then a cut, then another run of +0.1's, then a cut.

its quite obvious h/c's go up and downs like a whores draws, i've stopped paying attention now ;)

Look at mine lately up .1 20 times in a row, then a cut of .8 at the weekend.
Perseverance is the key,and of course practice.

I can't beat that however, I've only ever played in 7 comps and guess what?

7 x 0.1's back so far. I should be due a cut then ;)

I've had 10 x 0.1's back in a row although it would have been 12 had 2 of the comps not been reduction only

It used to bother me when I was into chasing my h/c but its pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things now.

My howdidido graph was looking like one side of Everest over the winter but at least I can ski down the other side again now. ;)
I did actually get embarassed by all the .1s and hadn't got enough space :o
I'll try and be honest in Future :p

Lads, what can i say. First up, yeah, I turn 50 next month, I use this name because I use it on other forums (fora?).

JammyDodger, 10 x 0.1 and still loving the game, I can only admire and aspire to your attitude.

There seems to be a lot of honesty here. If only this level of honesty could apply to our driving distances !

I am a born again golfer though Mark. I too used to be an angry golfer but since playing with Murph and RickG i've realised that there are golfers with loads more problems than me :D :D :D

i started the season off at 10.3 and went up every week 0.1 to 11.6 still turn up every week to play trying my best and today on the wednesday stableford shot my best score this season a 38 point haul with zero blobs but 5 1 pointers which i am very happy with so i should be lloking at my first cut of 0.2 to take me back to 11.4

I lose on the swings and lose on the roundabouts too. Going up. Started off at 10.8 and now 13.2. Not as if I haven't put the effort in and have had a PB in between albeit not in a comp. Still, you have to go out every week and beleive today is the day. Would be great if I peaked for the weekend and the club championship or failing that for Tuesday and St Pierre
