Another shocker on the greens!

Apologies if this is a repeat of any earlier threads.

After playing both days this weekend, I have been left frustrated again. Another decent weekend of ball striking only to ruined with a shocker on the putting green! Losing count of my 3 putt efforts and with the current trend in thr pro game towards longer/belly putters, have people noticed them creaping into the amateur game at your club yet? Or are people not willing to lose face by adopting one?

Had a bad day yesterday. Missed everything from 3 foot and even closer. No confidence with the stroke. Spent an hour with a well known putting aid and switched to my odyssey #9. Draining the short ones for fun and distance control much better too. Think the Ping is having some time in the naughty cupboard unless it behaves in the scramble next weekend

To me this does'nt sound like a good endorsment for this putting aid,it would be a differant matter if someone that has just started useing it posted this, now I know we can all have bad days on the putting green, but as you have had this putting aid for a while and in your words "have no confidence with the stroke, and missed everything from 3 foot and closer" this does'nt seem to imply that you have ingrained a good putting stroke with this putting aid, and to me it would suggest its not been much benifit to you.

As to the op I have only seen one member in our club use a long putter.

There have been many on here that have had putting problems and gone on to buy a V-easy and they say its helped a lot and would highly recomend it,so it might be worth trying this rather than going for a long putter.

Hi, I see you're having putting problems.
You may have read some posts about the V-Easy helping others, well it's true.
I have many emails from both customers and coaches who all sing it's praises.
If you need help take at look here and see what you think.

And it's a lot cheaper than buying another putter.

The V easy certainly give me the feel of firmer wrists.

I also think that this time of year we can be hard on ourselves when the groups in front leave foot prints and the greens are far from perfect.

Sometimes we have to go back to basics. I work on keeping still and tucking in the elbows to create a 'rocking of the shoulders' stroke.

Was having the same problem a few weeks ago, threw my odyssey putter with that stupid hot face crap in the bin, got the old TM Rossa out with the grooved face to help roll the ball, wham bam I'm a putting machine man

Death to all Odyssey putters

Played foursomes yesterday and partner and I missed short putts on the front 9 (at least it was both of us).

Back 9 we left way more tricky, longer putts and sunk them all - go figure!! Perhaps lowered expectations resulted in less pressure and a more relaxed putting stroke...

Must say putting is the one thing I have always been good at. My problem is getting there so I can use the putter. Wonder if I may be better driving from the tee with it (less clubs to carry to):o ...

It's the last weekend in November for crying out loud! Playing on normal greens is a bonus at this time of year. If you get to May next year and have the same problems then you can start to worry. Just be thankful you can get out on the full course this winter and enjoy the fresh air. :)
