Hello guys and girls

just wanted say hello before i randomly started posting in threads. My names Stuart and i live in the sutton area of surrey. i usually play at my local pay and play course although am lucky enough to have been invited by friends and family to play at their members course. Not currently a member of a course, i was going to join this year but with happy news of a little 'un joining me very soon that plan went out of the window. although i mite not get to play as much this year this seems to be the place to talk golf to people with the same enthusiasm as me.

Welcome along matey. I'm originally from your neck of the woods (Merton Park/Morden). Where do you play?

Homer my go to course is oaks park near woodmansterne? its nothing special, but for what you pay its good and they have a driving range which is nice as its only a 5 minute drive from my Home address. depending on whoes up for a game ive also frequented Mitcham Golf course at the common, woodcote, beckenham Place and Coulsdon Manor as my buddies like to chop and change. the mithcam one you may be aware off.

anywhere you would surgest in that vicinity?

I know Oaks Park. It's ok and a decent enough course to learn the game on. I know Mitcham very well. I was a member of Wimbledon Common for many a year and that is always a decent test with good greens all year long. I played my first ever game at Coulsdon Court. I like Banstead Downs too
 
I havnt been to the bansted downs yet i visited with a friend when he was planning his stag do and it was a tad hostile which put me off from it a little but i hope to get round to it, maybe this year. completly agree with what you said bout the oaks which is why i was looking for a membership somewhere. but circumstances have changed and it looks like ill be there more often for another year. it would be nice to be involved with some competitions at some stage aswell tho.

Hopefully you've made the most of lie ins over X'mas as with your expected new arrival lie ins will become a thing of the past!

We are waiting on the arrival of our third grandchild at present [should've been with us on Boxing Day]. He/she has sensibly delayed his/her arrival to sometime this week all being well...
