Another "it could only happen in England" threads

I have posted on or two threads about my trip to watch England v Spain on Saturday but wanted to keep this seperate

We got to the stadium with about and hour to kick off so decided to have a quick pint in a pub nearby.

Two hefty security guys on the door refused entry as the local pubs all have to close for 2 hours before kick off. We had some banter with them and then walked 3 shops down the road to an off license doing a roaring trade with everyone drinking cans of their favourite beer out in the street. Police wandering round seemed more than happy and there was a really good atmosphere with no trouble. you couldn't make it up!

Yea, the police that patrol wembley I've always found to be pretty sound. They don't mind you having a laugh and drinking in the street as long as you're not causing any trouble.

The ones that are on horseback controlling the traffic flow back to Wembley Park station are pretty cool too. Ended up chatting to one of them for about 20 minutes after the NFL game there a few years ago.
