i play with titleist ap1's (12 months old) i play 3 rounds a week. today, for the 3rd time i snapped the head off one of my irons at the hozzle. the club pro said it's rusted inside the shaft where it meets the hozzle and thats why its snapped. he said it shouldn't happen.

my question is, am i asking too much to send all my clubs back to titleist and get them to check or replace the lot. i have no confidence in my irons anymore i tend to hold back on hard shots in fear of breaking one. what you recon fellas

exact same happened to me with Titleist, they replaced the set with a new one, I'm positive they will do the same with you

If it's the third time then it's got to be them all. It seems as if there has been some problem with the finish, possibly the chrome plating of the shaft. Some of these processes are quite corrosive and if it’s not finished correctly then the residue can eat through the steel. On the other hand I could be talking bollocks.

I am a little shocked that Titleist would not have better quality control. Three of your irons and one of someone else's!

I would be pretty sure that they will take the set back though and replace or reshaft them all. What shafts are they?

I had a question for Titleist one day and it was super easy to get through to them and they were extremely helpful and efficient.

Let us know what happens.

If its the shafts at fault then Titleist wont know much about it until its too late.
