(Another) How to throw away a good medal card but...

Over the last few months have been playing some quite good golf (by my standard) and my h/c has come down by 3 shots, I’ve won a monthly stableford and have topped the club order of merit since beginning of the year.

Played in our first club medal of the year on Saturday, quite honestly I was shocking!!

Started with:

1st par4 = 8 (first two tee shots OB)
2nd par3 = 6 (tee shot OB & 3 putts)
3rd par5 = 11 (tee shot OB, two into the drink and a 3 putt)

So I'm 13 over through 3 holes couldn't hit any thing and when I did it would trickle into a pond or ditch, my head went down and couldn’t wait to get off the course and into the bar.

Yesterday played my usual Sunday swindle and had 38 points (came 2nd on countback) but had a birdie on the 3rd par 5 that I hit an 11 on the previous day , strung together a few pars couple of bogies & doubles but was back to normal.

So im back in a good place today and cant wait for Fridays Kent meet.

Glad it came back for you so quick. My bad spell that i am stuck in is killing me. Played 7 holes today as i had a couple of hours free. Absolute nightmare again, through 7 holes i was 13 over. Hacking everything longer than a 7 iron and 3 putting everywhere. I dont know what has happened but im back to where i was when i took the game up properly last summer.

Before that i played maybe once a year max and i feel im like the way i was 5 years ago. Hack hack hack aaaaargh

You should come and join at our place, the first 3 holes are a little loop and the third green is right next to the clubhouse........there'd be no need to prolong the agony!!!

Been there and got the tee shirt. I've started with an 8 but our first is a par 3! Not much you can do when you've wrecked the card early on but try and keep going and get something to work. Usually the next time you go out it'll click into place especially if its just a roll up or swindle. Its a stupid game like that
