Quick question I'm obviously new to the game me and my dad have just become members at a local course was thinking about putting my 3 cards in for handicap but my question is as my dad is a fellow member could he mark my card or does it have To be someone from the committee or something?? Also when I do get a handicap can it only get cut in official competitions or would I see a decrease if my card was marked whilst playing for fun?

Cheers guys

If Your dad has an official handicap he "should" be able to, just check with the club first before you go though.

You cant get a cut when just playing for fun normally it is done through comps although you can submit supplementary cards but they have to be declared before you go out. Again one to ask at the club though.

Other members are usually Ok to mark cards for handicap otherwise it would take ages waiting for committee members to mark cards. The only stipulation we have is that the marker has to have a handicap too.

We dont even have to have a marker with handicap so check with the club first, might be more flexible. I believe all clubs differ though.
