Another Golf Club closes - Laleham

Was down at my local 9-holer for a bit of practice today and joined up with a member. He said Laleham had closed last week - after announcing it would do so in January.

Was never a 'great' course, but was certainly useful for a casual round!

Plenty of their members joined our place, so much so that there was an ex Laleham v others match last year. The one and only time I played it the fairways were quicker than the runway at Heathrow.

We also picked a few up from there. Was only a matter of time as the owner as you say wanted to cash in and quarry

Their course disappeared under the flooding last year - one of their members actually kayaked the entire layout.
