Well, after having first spotted them advertised in the Golf mags well over a year ago and after reading many a glowing report on here, I've treated myself to an early birthday present and bought a GoKart.

I ordered it yesterday and got a confirmation e-mail stating that it would be despatched in '1-3 working days' - fair enough, I thought. To say I was seriously impressed when the doorbell rang at 10.38 this morning would be a huge understatement! I quickly assembled it and have been round the garden a few times with it - it's pretty nippy!

Have got a round organised for Friday morning and the weather forecast is looking good, so can't wait to try it out in the field, so to speak.

You'll be chuffed... ;)

Just make sure that you clip the battery into place properly on both sides. Biggest "mistake" most new users make and will lead to power "coming and going"...

Other than that.........warp factor 10 Mr Sulu
;)

I word of warning. Not just with GoKarts, but all 'leccy trollies.

Parked mine up outside the 19th at the weekend. Had some lunch etc. Went back to get my GoKart, and boy what a smell!

The 'on' switch had been knocked on by someone and the cart couldn't move because it was 'driving' into a wall. Result was one very hot and smelly motor. Luckily it was set to a slow speed.

Initially it would only drive very slowly, but the speed picked up as it cooled down. I don't know if any permanent damage has been done to the battery or the motor. I guess only time will tell.

If I drive my Hillbilly into a tree (done it), it initially tries to turn up side down, and then the motor stalls out to prevent it over heating.

I am suprised the GoKart doesn't have a similar feature. I'd be a bit miffed if it caught fire.

DelB,

Will it cope with the rigours of Lothianburn though?

Just remember gravity will hinder you on the way up, and on the way down, remember a rope and an anchor ;)

Yesterday, (could have been the day before), I posted on "the other site" about the bottom bungee on my GoKart snapping the other day. Wasn't moaning about it, just made the comment.
Sandy (from GoKart) was obviously keeping an eye on the thread because about an hour after I posted, I received an unsolicitied email from her informing me that a new replacement bungee was on it's way to me. How bloody good is this company?????
And please don't anybody say "well if they didn't go wrong you wouldn't need to contact them for help" because....

A) I didn't contact her.
B) It was the cheapest component on the kart, and the one part that I would expect to fail over time. A rubber bungee.

What more can I say?

You paid for a GK (including delivery) and they delivered it.

Another GK broke, and they fixed it.

Whoopee dooo ;)

Eh?
A rubber bungee snapped. They do over time.
I could have bought a new one. I didn't have to.
GoKart saw my comment that it had snapped and have sent me a new one free of charge.
Would any other company do that?

just to add my pennies worth i think thats pretty good.
after all rubber perishes lovely in the sunlight (thats if its seen any this year :-)) so a very nice gesture especially as it was unprompted.

I've no idea, if we ever get a thread about a trolley other than GK breaking we might find out :)

I have a GoKart, has'nt let me down ever.
Smiffy, great service is about exceeding expectations, and it seems they certainly have done that!

They still are out of stock on umbrella holders for ages, I
doubt they would PM me, then send me a complinentary one tommorow though. :)
