Am I the only one finding threads bashing manufactures about timeframe of launches more annoying than the launches themselves?

Quiet enjoy it when the thread is a discussion on the gear but that rarely seems to happen now. Just becomes a ba sh at what ever manufacturer is pick of the week.

I tend to have a look then ignore the thread if it is another bash a manufacturer. It seems like the same folk keep getting dragged in though......

Look on the bright side.....the more equipment launches, the more freebie fitting days......right GM??

I think the more options the better for us Amatuers. Think its great all the new releases.

will never understand the negativity towards club releases

I kind of agree now. In the past I've had a downer on TM because of their nonsensical claims and revolving door launch policy but now they are all the same.

It's a shame really because a new driver launch used to be quite exciting, I was like a kid at Christmas when the r9 came out.

Now there is one launched every few months it's impossible to raise any interest, good or bad

Guess one of the issues with lots of new products is the resale value of old products but do we really buy a certain item due to the depreciation rate?

I just find it annoying that you spend your hard earned on the newest set of clubs and they are outdated within two or three months. How come manufacturers like Ping and Titleist can survive on an 18-24 month cycle. Even Mizuno, who use to be in the same camp as these are starting to bring more and more iron models out regularly. All for innovation but I really don't seen how different some of these offerings are. I also understand that the new club today will be yesterdays news but I would like it to be en vogue for more than a few weeks

What difference does it make to you hitting the ball if your clubs aren't the newest model ?

You bought the clubs because they suited you - newer models shouldn't change that or where the clubs purchased just to have the latest clubs in your bag ?

Only the putter in my bag is the latest the rest have all been replaced but it doesn't make a difference

Many golfers want the newest club. Some might be treating themselves, some might be updating old equipment. Either way it seems wrong to me that you pay good money for the newest model by the manufacturer of your choice and before the credit card bill has arrived they've already launched the next model. It's like anything it does get updated. Imagine buying the car of your dream and before you got it on your drive way, they've announced the latest upgrade. That is how it feels with golf equipment. It makes no difference to how you play but can one set of irons really be that different to the ones they are usurping?

So this is a bash a bash the manufacturer thread?

I am considering starting a bash the bashers of the bash the manufacturer thread! What do you think? (answers on a post card to Box WR1234 please) :smirk:

On the other hand I may just open another bottle of 'Fursty Ferret' Hic!

I agree,if some ones spent their hard earned cash £400+ on the latest irons,it's a kick in the nuts when they're updated after 6months.

It would still be the car of my dreams though and will still perform that way.

If people are materialistic enough just to want the newest gear then the manufacturers will play into that - they will maximise their chance of profit because at the end of the day they are a company looking to make profits.

Again do people really not realise this and get sucked in ?

I would see it like this. Just dropped 100k on a top end porshe. 0-60 in 5 secs. The sales man saying this is the fastest best handling porshe ever. 6 months later they make a better and faster one. Now, I still love my car but its not nice knowing theres a better one out there that beats mine. I'd sell it but its worth much less as there's a better one out there.

I drive a astra diesel btw
