Another great day for a game of golf.

Struggled with the driver, unlike yesterday, but course managed reasonably well. Hit a lot of pulls with the driver as opposed to the gentle fade of yesterday.
Scored 36 pts with one scratch on the 16th.
Happy with my iron play, putting and bunker play.

Well played fella however I hate you!

2 perfect golf days and I havent hit so much as a ball in anger :(

I cant complain though as i'm playing local on Tuesday, corporate day Thursday, local Saturday then the big one....Yorks vs Lancs on Sunday :D

I had a great match in the summer knockout today with a guy off 8. He's the ex-secretary and a thoroughly decent chap (ex RAF old school so you get the picture). I got 4 shots and was 4 up at one stage going out in +4 gross.

He then proceeded to play the back nine in +1 gross (off 8) and beat me 1 up on the 18th. Apart from losing a ball off the tee on 13 and a bit of a hack up 16 there was little I could do. I hit a great approach in front of a packed patio to about 10 feet (downhill left to right) and he found the middle of the green and 2 putted for par. I had to hole and put a good stroke on it and it just slid by on the right.

Not overly upset. Sometimes you play well and enjoy the company and there are certain guys you don't mind losing to and he definitely falls into that category. We zipped round in three hours too

Went out in gross 36 (+1) and then drifted in with 44 (+8) for a career best 80 (par 71, HC 16.4).

I should be feeling ecstatic, so why can I not stop thinking about that double on the last that cost me a first sub 80?

One of these days, I'll put two lots of 9 together...

I had a good weekend I came second in a board comp on saturday. I shot a 70-5-65 (par 68) a nett 61 won again! Standard scratch was 69 so my handicap came down another 0.4 :)
I was still a bit disappointed though as I made a double bogey on our 15th which is only 110 yards long. I'd just eagled the par 5 14th and the adrenaline was flowing a bit too much. I hit my gap wedge over the back of the green where there is no chance of keeping you're next shot on the green. I also 3 putted 18....not the way to finish.
