I did it again on the last, 6 iron to par 3 and for the first time in the round I shanked it, left an impossible shot to the green and I finished up with a triple bogey 6!!

I still had a net 70, which is very pleasing and also for the first time I didn't have worse than a 6, although on the other hand I didn't have anything better than a 4.

Well done!

I'm in mixed minds which I would prefer to score a net 70 (not that I will get one of these for a while!). Some days I would love consistent golf, with no birdies, but no double bogeys. Other days, a couple of birdies would well outweigh a couple of doubles, if I came out with the same score.

Louise id buy a cut this min , any type of a cut (5 scratch cups & a medal = 5 x 0.1 & buffer) , ok ya messed the last but at least ya know you can go a couple of shots lower still

Still godd shooting congtrats

it was still quite up and down with a birdie and 5 pars to offset 3 doubles and a triple

Louise there seems to be so a lot of good stuff going on and then the odd killer shot/hole. Have you spoken to your pro about it as you are winning on a regular basis, getting cut and going from strength to strength but it seems there is still much more in the tank if you can lose the bad hole. Wonder if your pro can give you some help on course management so when the bad shot comes there is a plan B

to be honest Home, when you shank one on a par 3 there really isn't a plan B, I have been to see the pro about this before and he has done some small changes, but the aren't really doing any good and at the moment I have so many comps that I can't afford to start doing changes mid season.

CSS was the same as SSS today so I got a 0.6 but that's puts me on 18.5 which is still a a playing handicap of 19.

Take the cuts where you can get them Louise. You may not have finished as well as you'd like but it's a cut.

Well played :)

1 more cut then no more 2 shots a hole, your catching Birchy ;)

Well done Lou

I agree that there is not a lot you can do about the straight right off the hosel but having read your blog regularly there does seem to be one hole per round that is a horror. If you can turn these into nothing more than a nasty double then the scores will look much better and the cuts bigger. Are they the same problems such as a wild drive and then compounded?

Played in the knockout today and my game deserted me 4 down after 7! made a bit of a come back but my opponent putted very well and hole a couple of long putt whereas I missed a couple of shortish ones and hole nothing. Finally lost 3&1.

One interesting thing though, it was dewy to start with and I noted on a shot I hit way right that it wasn't a shank but in fact came off the toe, could see the path of the club in the dew.
