Money List Winner
Wiliam Wroe, in Flixton, Trafford. It was a pay and play course, I only found out when I was trying to find out who ran their ladies team as we are supposed to be playing them in a Manchester area club knockout.
If the council own it then the reason they want to use this land rather than any other available land is because by selling it for development they get the houses they need, the money for the sale of land and they don't have to bother running it on goingIt`s only closing 9 of the 18 holes, for nownot sure whether it`s the front or back 9 at the mo, but it`s still a shame.
The Council want to turn it into a housing development.
There are enough empty plots of land, car parks etc, they could use instead of using green belt/golf courses.
The course was my introduction to Golf and I used to caddy for my old man and have some great memories of the course.
The Council have let it get a bit rundown recently and have concentrated their efforts on Altrincham Muni, which is a shame because it`s a great little course.
End of an era.

Sad...
Dewstow near me in Monmouthshire closed on a Friday. Poorly managed from what I can see from the outside...gradually losing members over the past few years
Interesting about the 9 holes only, I though it was only a 9 hole course anyway. I rang Altrincham to try and find out what was going on and they said that it had closed and the memberships had moved to Altrincham.
