Sorry about this ;)

Basically, I first had a lesson 2 Augusts ago but after that only played once or twice in the school holdiays and thats it, so I never improved beyond hacker. Well I started playing often in june after my A-Levels and went round my track a few times (royal st davids, Harlech) and had such bad scoring (100+), didn't enjoy it and I was loosing my enthusiasm for the game. I vowed not to play it again until I felt comfortable. Since then (July) I've had a couple of solo rounds there but the rest of the time of been on the practice ground or the much easier Cricieth Golf Club. Hence no handicap!

Today I went down and tee'd off for a solo round when I got asked if this senior could join me, so of course I said yes and he marked a card for me :)

I thought I was going to shoot 90-100 or something. I played a good solid round with 6 pars and only 1 double bogey. We counted my score after and I shot 82! I couldn't believe it! I thought I was gonna be slapped in the face with a max handicap and told to stay on the range :p

Also just got to tell about one shot! 170yd par 3 ninth hole. A fairly strong brieze straight into, so I pick up my 5 wood (normally about 200yd club), tee it down to the ground, back in my stance, 3/4 swing and try and nail it low and let it crash into the back to front green and stop! Well end result was 3yd from pin, missed the put but hey it feels good to try a shot where you manipulate the ball and it works!

Great shooting

Great Golf club

Great looking set of golf clubs

Your all set to carry on this good form, stick with it and kick ass if you come along to a forum meet.

Thanks for the multiple compliments :o

Would love to mate. I'm going travelling for 2 and half months this summer though so my games gonna go (excuses already :)) but I'm working on getting a handicap to work back towards when I get back. I'm planning at stopping at every driving range we come by on my travels though! Sure that will annoy the hell out of my mates!

Sorry Nicksampo did you play St Davids or Criccieth today?
Glad to hear you're scoring well.

Good technique on the knockdown shot, back in stance and club up.

Nice part of the country, have relatives on the Lleyn so know Criccieth quite well though I haven't played the course there, only Pwhelli (spelled wrong).

Next timeI'm down I'll be looking for a game, maybe hit Old Windy up for a game at Aberdovey? Nefyn would be good too!

Just had a look at your website, my word, your good. I love A Smooth Flow, post something in out of bounds to show off that stuff!

Good luck travelling, where you off?

Good shooting. Its great when you try something a bit different and it works although don't get too comfortable with that feeling as the game will come back and bite you. Enjoy the smug feeling though its richly deserved.

My bad birdieman, I played Royal St Davids today! When you are in the area PM me and we'll arrange it.

Cheers Homer and thankyou again HTL! If anyone else wants a look at my photos: http://nicksampo.deviantart.com/

You sure did pick a strange one to like though ;)

I'm going to melbourne for 10 days to meet with two mates then we're heading to New Zealand and renting a campervan and driving round it for a month.

After that, I get back to the UK for a week or so and then head off and travel Scandinavia with another mate for a month.

I'm taking my camera of course and so you'll see everything on there a month or so after I get back.

Well done, nothing wrong with spreading good feelings around here.

What web site is HTL on about??

I am a bit strange mate. I love pictures of water. Growing up around the Gower in South Wales helped. I almost drowned surfing TWICE! Since then I have always had a bid respect for the power of water, dislocated my shoulder wake boarding, broke 3 ribs knee boarding, knocked out cold and had to be rescued wind surfing. I love being in water,I know that picture does not show powerful water, but I like it. I have a few pictures around my house of water and love them.

Fair enough, thats quite a string of injuries! I'm sure I'll be getting loads of shots of massive waterfalls and waves on my travels so there should be more coming. Waters actually my favourite subject, could be because its easier to build a good image out of though!

Good shooting on the course, and also good shooting with the camera, I'm sure the website will be full when you return from your travels.
