Andy Murray is still ...................................... British

Good game, that yank served awesomely though, good tough game for Murray to come through.

Care to share the Facts Of his major wins to back up he's the best Britain has ever produced?

A different British player won Three consecutive wimbledons and Eight grand slams, world no1 four years in a row

I can't see past him getting pictured with his Scottish flag and when asked about the british fans he almost dismissed them. He's Scottish and proud and isn't true GBR at all in my opinion.

All sportsmen get caught out at some time or other by press looking for a picture of them victoriously draped in their national flag.

Remenber Darren Clarke at the Ryder Cup at the K Club when he, Harrington and McGinley were pictured with the Irish flag, he said " give me the orange end"

It's the press and media who drive it 'cause that's what they thrive on.

It's only a game. In the greater scheme of things it's not really that important ;)

Best player Britain has EVER produced. Fact.

Best player Britain has EVER produced that has never won a grandslam......definitely.

A great player but a nearly man, just seems to crumble when it matters most.

Crumbles my backside. Murray has been a consistant performer for years sadly he's in an era when there is possibly three of the best male tennis players that the world has ever seen.

Different era different game ;)

Ahh so he's not the best British player ever-fact! He's the best in the last few years, can't disagree with that.u

Best player Britain has EVER produced. Fact.

unfortunately british tennis did not produce andy murray that was the several years playing and learning the game in spain im afraid! although agreed he is the best British player ever.
Murray could have dominated the sport in pretty much any era but the current one with federer, nadal and djokovic about he is always going to struggle to reach their level, it would be like saying lee westwood is no good if he was in a fourball with woods, nicholson and hogan each week !

Oddly, henman would have won majors, but for Sampras.

In every era, there are dominant players, and the ones a level below. Murray, and henman are / were fine players, just not quite good enough.

Britains finest player? Fred perry. No question.

Totally agree. I would also mention that Fred Perry won eight majors, his first one when he was 24, same age as Murray. He still has plenty of time to win one.
