Andrei Shevchenko

Hopefully he'll sign up to the Forum and come on a few meets....... :)

I watched him at the BMW Pro Am, I hope he plays better than he did there!

8 over through 12 with one birdie and two pars. Solid Bogeys for the rest.

Have a look at Pawel Japol from Poland, +29 through 15 with a 13 and a 10 on his card. Three figure number coming up soon.

My playing partner last night said he wouldn't break 90 in a million years having watched him on telly previously.
But he smashed it with an 84 - don't give up the day job Andrei!

He has shot 86 today (+26). Had a glance at the leaderboard and the top Ukrainian was on +21 (119th out of 130). There were 7 locals competing including 'Shevva'.

So - is this a good thing? I.e. 'places for faces' or is it preventing decent players from competing. Discuss.........

When you see all the big players heading west to the States to rake in the money from the bigger purses, as the European purses are notably smaller, maybe sticking a Ukrainian sporting Superhero like Shevchenko on the bill at a Ukrainian will boost the attendance and interested sponsors to swell the Purse or make sure the event is not run at a loss.
