I thought from your description of your new club that they would be playing qualifiers all year round and wouldn't have an "official golfing season".

No qualifiers at out place till the end of the month, it's all team/pairs matches and by the looks of it there's not even a comp on Easter Sunday which is a bit annoying.

They do have qualifiers all season but their 'year end' is 31st march. As I finished my membership at KGC on the 31st March my 'official' start was last Tuesday (1st April) and this is my 1st weekend and as is usual on the 1st weekend of the month, its medal day.

Most courses will also be back on the whites for the first time although I've read that some are extending their preferred lies on fairways.

How you finding the new place Fish?

I'm getting to grips with it slowly, once off the tee I'm OK, there's just some very different angled tee boxes and I'm finding myself on the wrong side of the fairways and being blocked out for a 2nd shot to the greens.

I'll get there :smirk:

Loving walking into the bar and just pouring myself a beer

Sod the golf, that last line makes it sound like a winner :D

Next week for us as this weekend it's all the winter league finals! The wife not happy as the women's tee time slots have been shunted to later in the day ;)

oh well :)

Meant to be playing a Stableford tomorrow but high winds, rain and a bad right arm/elbow are making it look like a bad idea

Went out early this morning. Course was soaking and would have preferred for the tie to be called off- not just because I hacked it around like a chump, but because the course will take a long time to recover from today's rounds.

Took me 8 holes before I could get the driver to work and by then it was too late (52 out) but it did come back to me. Confidence needed from the off.

Had to take a good few drops due to plugged lies, costing me strokes. Had a chance to hit buffer on the last (par 5) but decided to shank my approach to the green out of bounds, carding a 9 in the process for a sexy 0.1.

Hit my tee shot to 8 feet on a long par three and missed by inches, costing me magic 2 money.

Lost my car keys and found that I had left them in the changing rooms before the round and they were handed in behind the bar.

Forgot to lift my Lucozade before I left the house.

I'll come back if I remember anything else.

Stoopid game. Back next week.

When you all talk about club qualifiers, qualify for what exactly?

We have captains drive in today, pro am next week? Then a medal then another, then the captains qualifier the first week in May?

Qualify for what?

The scores from any individual singles Medal/Stableford/Bogey played under Medal conditions (full handicap, full measured course etc. etc.) should be used for any appropriate handicap adjustments.
