Took advantage of the fine weather yesterday. Cloudy but dry with a stiff breeze.
Set off with my son to the club for a round just around lunchtime.
Arrived to find the carpark full and a small queue for the 1st tee. Considered playing the back 9 but a glance at the 10th, 9th and 8th holes soon made my mind up, games ongoing.

Into the clubhouse for a bacon butty and a brew. Suitable filled we left the clubhouse only to find the course still as full. (Looked like everyone else found the day a good one for golfing!)

Decided to pluck the 7 iron from the bag, a tube of balls and head off down the practice ground.
Spent a brilliant couple of hours knocking the balls about, trying new things and generally hitting golf shots. We had the place to ourselves so could hof the balls where we wanted without fear of hitting anyone.
Played nearest the marker, chipping to same marker, longest shot. We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Who said practice was boring?

I'm ashamed to admit I generally opt for a round often with poor results, purely and simply because I don't put in the practice.
New resolution from now on, I aim to make some good use of my spare time up at the club by devoting some of it to practicing.

Well done mate.

I love practising. Its the only way to a) groove the swing into smoething repetitive and trustworthy and b) try and learn new shots.

Keep up the hard work. You will be surprised how your game improves quickly

I also only had a spare hour yesterday in between glossing the skirting boards and painting the bathroom. I took myself off to the practice area and hit about 40 balls, a few little wedges, then about 10 nine irons then the same with a 5 iron, a few drivers then messed about with the lob wedge.

Great fun and it got the gloss out of my brain!!! Hate glossing with a passion it gives me a headache!

Good fun that hour and swung it well.

I love practicing, if i go to my brother inlaw's club they have good facilities and i make the most of them. Especially when its frosty, they leave temps on till about midday when the sun thaw's out the greens, so i spend the time waiting, on the range, practice green, chippin green and bunkers. Then normally have a hell of a round. hit longer cause am nice and loose and have a better frame of mind so pick out my shots better too.
