Today marks the day of the start of my A2 exams. :( :( :( :( :(

2 exams Latin and Biology today, one after another.

Then I have 4 more to decide whether I am off to St Andrews!

I have never worked so hard for anything before!

Only need to get AAA… :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Best of luck mate. I don't miss doing exams at all. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Despite not liking the exams. the two years of 6th form were the best years of my life.

My daughter has finished most of her AS exams, and is looking a universities at the moment. Keep pushing her towards St Andrews, but she keeps coming up with the feeble excuse that they don't do her course.

All the very best, and if you get in you will be able to play with the Fife lads on here.

Ouch! Good luck with the exams. A levels are probably the hardest exams you will sit. Hope it goes well for you and you get the grades you want.

:)
Thanks! If only they were the hardest… I think Medicine Finals might be a step up…

Are exams really that hard nowadays? More and more kids are getting more and more exam passes and not many of them I'd give a job to.

I would say that they may be getting easier, but not by much and grades are now different completely to what they used to be. They used to be effectively what mark you got, not they are a representative of rankings among candidates.
Also, it depends on what subjects you do as well. I personally would argue that my subjects Chemistry, Biology and Latin, are quite hard! In fact amongst the hardest you can do!

Why do some people always insist on demeaning the achievments of young people! There are more passing so they must be easier - try the alternative they may have worked harder to achieve their results than their predecessors.

However, passing an exam does not necesarily make you more employable but we should not judge people on when they passed their exam or my GCE/CSE's from the 70's would be the equivalent of a degree by now if exams got that much easier every year.
