I had my 7th Eagle since I joined my current club 5 years ago, at our 479 yard par 5 9th hole this morning. Good drive, lifetime best 3-wood to 3 1/2 feet and drained the putt. I had eagled this hole twice before, but they were both chip-ins from short of the green. Not bad for a 69 year old senior with a bad back! :)

Sigh I've been playing golf for around thirty years with a 10 year break when I lived abroad and have yet to have an Eagle. Closest I came was a par five when I was on on with a driver and spoon and single putted. Unfortunately I was playing three off the tee.
I forgot to mention congratulations by the way, well done.

Good work!

I'm 99% sure i had a 2 or 3 back in my junior days but I've not had one since I started again properly last year. I was pretty close to an albatross last week after nuking a 3 hybrid into a par 5 and watching it trickle past the hole at dropping pace, finishing on the fringe about 14 foot past. I then 3 putted...

Perhaps I should also mention that I have had 3 Albatrosses (or double Eagles if your prefer) in my golfing life, all 2's at par-5's. However these were all when I was much younger! Only one hole-in-one though!

I'm still to bag an eagle, I've been right on the lip of the hole but its still something that has escaped me :(

I had two last year on the par 4 17th at Ullesthorpe. Both 3 woods off the tee and on in one. Leaving a single putt

I had my first ever eagle last night, and in the best way possible too. Driver, 3-iron, holed putt from 12 ft...now the floodgates can open!

Well done Delc; an enviable record. I've been lucky enough to card a couple of hole-in-ones but never managed to eagle a par 5. (The down-hill par 5 9th at RWGC beckons tantalisingly!)

I remember my first and only eagle from my school days before taking a 10 year break from the game.

Roasting hot summers day, fairways like concrete and I smoked a 3 wood straight down the middle on the 321 yard, per 4 first hole. The hole is mostly flat, but a gentle rise in the fairway meant we couldn't see where the ball ended up. To my disbelief it had made it all the way to the fringe. I then dabbed a chip and it trickled all the way into the hole. I remember walking to the next tee telling myself to savour being 2 under for the round cos you'll never experience this again!!

Normal service was quickly resumed and I remember playing terribly for the rest of the round. However I don't think I'll ever forget the feeling of that 3 wood leaving the face, then that chip rolling in.
