Somewhat ambivalent about this!

A strong (Sir) Russell Coutts fan. My boss in 1984, when Coutts won the Olympic Finn Gold with a famous boil on his bum, was his Tornado team-mate. Patriotism demanded I supported NZ though!

Some phenomenal speeds - regularly over 50mph and occasionally nearly 60mph - produced! Could well be the format for a while now.

Decided to take a look at this after it was mentioned on 5Live last week. Hopped across during an ad break in the golf and got absolutely hooked. Those boats are just amazing. When I started watching it was 8-1 to the Kiwis so every race was a must win for the USA. Kiwis must be gutted, but it was a great event.

I see the NZ boat was government backed.
I hope our goverment don't back our bid,there would be uproar.
However I could see someone like Virgin doing it.
At the cost of 100 million.
Great racing,certinly got my attention this year even though I used to watch it years ago.
