Right, I am off down to Plymouth this morning to visit American golf for the first time. A friend of mine is set to buy a new driver and apparently she can test drive quite a few down there. I am going to have a look at centre shafted putters. Bobmac will be pleased to know!!

I might have a sneaky look at the three woods as well :)

Woo hoo. splash the cash Vicky. Try some YES putters.
I see you haven't commented on the Stenson picure yet?
Have fun today and let us know how you get on.

I couldn't think of a much better way of spending a few hours ;) Enjoy

I am 100% with Smiffy on this one. The Benny is the best in show for less than a big note (£100)

I would also recommend using an AG that has a driving range in it because then you can see the true ball flight rather than on a laptop.

If they've got a Ben Sayers "Benny" driver, have a good hard look at one.
For the price, I don't think they can be beaten.
Have fun, and don't spend too much money

sorry for pinching someone's post, but just a quickie
are the Ben Sayers 3&5 woods as good

Dunno
They didn't do a "Benny" matching 3 wood (although I understand they have now just introduced one) so I have G10's. I didn't fancy the other offerings by BS

What a disappointment! There was only three centre shafted putters and they looked like they should be in the Tate modern. I tried several different three woods - Cobra, Ping G10, Callaway, Taylor made and Yonex.

The main surprise was that I liked the Yonex VMX. I do not know much about yonex but the ball flew really well. The only problem was that I could not tell if I hit it any further than my 5 wood as using practice balls can alter the results. Stupidly I did not take my clubs with me (too early in the morning!) so I had no comparision.

I really need to take the club on the golf course so I will check the pro shop tommorow.

I liked the look of the irons as well. It was a very interesting visit but I still think I would like to save up to go to Gainsborough and get fitted with Ping clubs.

Wacky, if you do go to get a Ping fitting, me and Jan are only 40 mins away from Gainsborough.
We could put you up and have a game while your here as long as you dont swear on the course. lol Did you hear on the news about the netball players?

Bobmac, that would be great to meet you and Jan.
Whats the world coming to! The netball girls are made out to be real yobs but personally speaking they have always been real ladies. Perhaps it is the youth of today, being ultra competitive.

God Did I really say that!! :o I am developing into a middle aged grouch already

I get my first pay packet in 16 days time(not really counting) so will start the Ping Fund, conveniently forget about the Uni Fund! :D
