To avoid hijacking other thread on Pro v1 has anybody got an opinion on the various types of Pro v1 sold at AG?

They seem to have a few options.

24 Pro V1 practice (reconditioned) £9.99 (41p a ball) Must be cack for that price .

6 Pro V1 second chance balls £13.99 (2.33 a ball) Assume these must be almost new for that price.

12 Challenge Golf Pro V1 Refurbished Balls £19.99 (1.66 a ball)

New box of 12 currently £40 (3.33 a ball)

Looking for perfectly playable balls not ones only fit for practice.

American Golf used to sell Prov1's with practice on for £24 for 12, not recon, just the odd blemish.

about the only thing Ive ever brought from AG

The ones that came in the Titleist branded b/w box? I used to buy them too and I'm gutted you cant get them anywhere anymore. Looking for the nearest things to them. What are you buying now?

still us prov1/X

i find a few while walking the dogs and the wife buys me a couple of boxes for Christmas and that does me the season.

i only ever us a new ball for a comp, so don't get though that many.

I've been looking at these for ages. I think they are ones titleist hand out on the range at the tour events. Hit once then boxed.

I'd happily play these everyday of the week. Half price is worth it. £3.50 a ball isn't.

i could get some for you when the scottish open is at CS in a couple of months...... a sort of mad trolley dash across the practice ground.

1st year it was there spectators nicked all of them;)

I wouldn't trust anything that says refurbished. So long as they've just had a good scrub thats fine by me but the refurbs often involve touching up the paint etc and you just wouldn't know.

Practice stamped are absolutely fine.

Therein lies the problem, you cant seem to find either the Titleist boxes of new x-outs or practice stamped balls anymore.

They both appear to be available in the U.S. still which is annoying.

I've gone for some "pearl" condition jobbies online that work out to be £1 a ball , has to be worth a try compared to £3.33 a ball

If you buy Lake Balls, you don't know what effect a period of immersion in water has on them. Most of them seem to be fine, but you get the odd one that just doesn't fly properly. Personally I would rather buy cheaper new golf balls than secondhand/refurbished/lake ones with an unknown history, even if they are top quality balls and look perfect.

Aaah, the big lake ball debate rears it's head again !!!!

So having emailed titleist yesterday to ask where I can get practice prov1's, imagine my face when I walk into hot golf an hour ago and there lies a big box full of 2016 practice prov1's shining like a mirage of holy water in the schorching hot desert.

2 dozen for £40 notes. Bargain. Felt like maxing out the credit card and buying the whole box.

Not sure if they have them online but I'd well imagine if you called them for a good number they'd post you some out.

You got to be kidding me, I was in Ellesmere Port yesterday of all places and could have grabbed a load if I had known.

Will give them a call thanks for the heads up.
