Just had a wander into American Golf (New Malden) to waste a bit of time between meetings and on a whim decided to ask whether they either had a Cobra King Ltd driver to demo or when they were likely to.

Got the rather surprising response (or at least I thought it was) that AG will not be stocking any Cobra clubs as of now. They are still selling off older stock however new models will not be sold in store.

You can order them in to store or be custom fitted for them (again you'd have to get it ordered in) however there will be no displays or clubs held in stock.

Given they're a pretty popular (or maybe not now?!) brand I thought it a strange decision by AG?

No way... wonder what that is all about? Love to have more info if anyone has it?!

It seems to be more of an American brand. I can count on one hand the golfers i know with cobra. When i played golf in florida i felt like every other golfer had cobra.

I've hit the new king cobra and it's a fantastic driver too!

The 2015 Cobra drivers where some of the best in the industry... Be a shame if it goes like Adams and Tour Edge and is less visible in the UK.

Like you say though, I dont know anyone playing Cobra.

Some of my mates play Cobra, couple of the young lads have the Cobra pro irons ,very nice.

an interesting decision. Not sure if it has any significance but I know that over the last few years, when I have been having a look at cheap drivers in the end of season sales, the Cobra models have always been there being sold off at rock bottom prices. That is not just at AG but on most online golf retailers. Maybe they just simply have not been selling and retailers with ever decreasing profit margins are looking to cut brands that are not selling as well.

Used to be that Cobra was an old mans brand going back a ways. They got Ricky and Polts and went all colorful when Puma purchased them to avoid the old mans tag... maybe its not working in the UK? Shame if thats the case, its really good kit right now!

I used to have S3 irons and they were very good. Currently got a Fly Z driver and I'd argue along side a G30, it is is the best drivers for most amateurs with its high levels of forgiveness.

I also use the Fly Z, it replaced the R15 which was a rash purchase and, personally, never really got on with. Got the Fly Z from Golfbidder having tried someone else's down the range and to be honest it's one of the best drivers I've owned.
