First time poster here,

My friends and I were discussing the lack of coverage amateurs get? bar the Walker Cup (is that being shown live this year?) and a highlight reel for British Amateur (usually at about 2am on BBC7?!) I personally would love to see more of it so we can see the stars of the future coming through??? Plus it would help them prepare for life in front of the cameras?

Also i'm going to watch the British Amateur at Hesketh / Hillside this year? anyone suggest players to watch?

cheers!

I can see where your coming from, however theres no money in amateur golf for the tv companys,so i cant see that changing in the near future. Many amateur golfers are now taught media at college and how to answer questions,so when and if they turn proffesional they are well equipped.Welcome to the forum

I think it's about time that the European Tour or the PGA got their own tv channel, as most of the top football clubs have. They could be on air a few hours each night and get advertising and sponsorship deals. They could show re-runs of past tournaments and of course weekly amateur events. After all they are minted and make a fortune, so why not expand and they'll probably be selling it on to Sky after proving it's a success.

Would be good to see some of the amateurs televised. The best ones are at tour pro standard, and a heck of a lot better than the EuroPro players that they do televise occassionally.
