I have just come back from town quite baffled and wandering why a specialist and a non-specialist don't differ or am I missing something.

I wanted a pair of running shoes for my son and went into Tony Price sports in Taunton I believe a small independent company but more of a specialist in a few sports.
I asked the assistant if she could measure my sons feet and her reply was "we don't do size but we can tell you if he pronates or over pronates",I just don't get it why would a sports shoe shop not measure feet.

So into sports direct again they said we don't measure feet.
So is there a reason? Am I missing something.

2017 Tony. Can only mean 1 thing. Health and Safety. Can't afford for staff to attend 3 or 4 training courses and fill out a dozen forms in triplicate. Don't know mate. Perhaps it's the thing nowadays

The pronate/over pronate is more important than the size accepting common sense will dictate on the sizing aspect. Get the wrong fit, and the knees will be hammered.

Whilst I get what your saying I believe that there is no concrete evidence running knackers knees its just never been proven.

Back in my running days I had loads of different shoes and loads of different makes and ran 1000s of miles and never had any knee problems.

Yes most grown up will know their exact size but kids sizes change rapidly.
Knowing exact sizes will give me confidence I have bought the right thing.
