Am I alone in finding the current banner adverts from Nike & TaylorMade extremely annoying (to the point where I am not viewing the Lounge as regularly), they constantly open up whilst I am trying to read posts, I don't want clubs or shoes and would like the option of looking at the ad's as and when I want. Sorry GM but very annoying.

You are not alone. I'm using Chrome and I'll scroll down a list of posts, just be ready to click on one and the screen jumps up/down as something on the side expands. May be worse due speed of loading but come on GM, we don't all have super fast fibre etc.

I think any advert that drops down and covers what you are reading has a negative impact on the viewer. Golf clubs are sexy enough, to those of us on this forum, that a simple banner on the top of the page is enough. This is a regular complaint but obviously advertisers believe they are good. I can't see it myself though.

I also go anti the product if it drops down.

No you're not alone. I understand the need for advertising revenue, and one of the benefits is we have the forum. However, the two adverts that fold across the page are just downright 'rude!' I do click on adverts that I'm interested but, as the Lord T says, the one that fold across the page get promptly ignored.

Let's face it, if you had a person butting into what you were reading you'd tell them where to go.

C'mon GM, this version of advertising is close to crossing the line and being rude/intrusive!

On my Kindle I've started getting adverts appearing on every page between the third and fourth thread in the lounge or OOB etc and between the third and forth posts within a thread. Don't know why it's started but it is very annoying.

I bought a Stewart trolley off the back of one of the adverts which is what there all about.
I was only talking about the TM AeroBurner ad at the Burnham meet the other day.
Before I got the ad blocker it was driving me nuts and I was not even bothering in the end
to log on.
Im all for the ads to click on if I want to but the ones that block the page is ridiculous.

GM need to realise that the adverts are so intrusive that it will drive people to install blocking software completely destroying the exposure the advertiser was hope to achieve.

Keep it subtle GM otherwise it will rebound on everyone

Got adblock and not a problem. Let's not lose sight that GM provide this forum for our enjoyment and need to make revenue and so I don't have issues with them advertising. Their forum, their rules. Adblock stops it though

It defeats the object having a advert that makes people turn off.
We all know what GM and the forum means Martin.thx.
But if everyones putting adblock on its no good for the advertisers is it?

But not everyone will put it on will they and there must be thousands of lurkers who come on and off here once in a while without feeling the need to make a post and I guess they see the ads.

Sorry GM, I know that advertising is a vital revenue stream for you but the current TM ad which opens across the page was the final straw for me, I have now installed adblocker and can once again enjoy the forum without the unwanted intrusion of advertisments.

Me too. I also get the need to have adverts, but they should in my opinion never intrude on accessing the content of the site, as that's what you are visiting the page for. By all means stick them around the content, but don't make you click on them to remove them so you can access the content.

I hate those sites that take a few seconds to load and the site is jumping around a lot as there are so many adverts on them scrolling here, there and everywhere. Or the sites that have a 30 second advert before any video starts. As to be honest life's too short and I don't bother watching the video or visiting the site again unless I have to.

Downloaded Adblocker as well. Sick and fed up of the problems with the Nike advert that's been going on for months.

The Adds a load of rubbish. It asks me to 'Hover to find out how fast I swing' The house is now completely devoid of dust and I still dont know how fast I swing ;)
