Alternative day played, main day abandoned - should alt day be replayed

The alternative day was played without issue. A few days later the main day competition was abandoned at lunchtime even tho the greenkeeper and pro said the course was playable and the course remained open. That is a separate discussion but my question is if the abandoned competition is rearranged should the alternative day be rearranged too or do those results still stand? Entry fees have been refunded but the result published on hdid.
Thanks

Whether or not the alternative day results should stand depends on the rules of the particular competition. If the rules state that the alternative day results are final, then they should stand. However, if the rules do not explicitly state this, then there is some room for interpretation. That's all.

I don't it is right to consider that there is a difference in status between the two days of an alternative day competition that there is a 'main day' and an alternative no matter if there is a disparity in the numbers playing on each day. What you have is a choice to play on one day or the other, that's all. They are both alternative days. There is no justification for requiring players who played on one of the days to play again because the other day's round was abandoned. The terms of the Competition should make clear whether an abandoned round is to be played on another day or the whole competition is annulled. Which is a matter for the Committee to decide .....in advance of its happening.

Most likely there are no rules for the unexpected (even if the event isnt entirely unpredictable as an event), so the ruling is made on the fly. And thus is correct.

This isn’t what I would expect. Could you not make exactly the same argument for a single day competition where , say, morning players completed their rounds?

From Committee Procedures, Section 6E, and presuming stroke play:
b. Stroke Play
In stroke play there is no set guidance for when a Committee should cancel a round. The proper action depends on the circumstances in each case and is left to the judgment of the Committee.
A round should be cancelled only in a case where it would be very unfair not to cancel it. For example, it would be reasonable to cancel a round if, a small number of players begin a round under extremely bad weather conditions, conditions subsequently worsen and play for the remainder of that day is impossible, but when play will resume the next day the weather is likely to be significantly better.
When a round is cancelled, all scores and penalties during that round are cancelled. That would normally include any disqualification penalty, but, if a player is disqualified for a serious misconduct (see Rule 1.2) or for a breach of the Code of Conduct, that disqualification should not be cancelled.

Most of our comps you have the choice of playing Friday or Saturday.
If the Friday comp is stopped for any reason the Saturday comp will continue/count as normal.
But if the Saturday comp is stopped, the Friday comp will be cancelled but still used for h/c purposes.
