Played 12 holes this evening after work , 1st time ever i played golf on my own ,, hit the ball sweet as you like , still cant say i enjoyed it , even playing well it was not as enjoyable as ambling around chatting & having the craic with my mates , do many of ye lads play rounds on ye'r own ?? do or did ye enjoy it ? whats the general feeling on golfing alone..

When I was amember at a club I used to play afterwork (8-10)when I had the course to myself. I used to really enjoy it. Very relaxing, and a bit of practice around the greens.

It's OK to an extent.

End up just messing around on most greens chipping and putting which has it's uses. Normally only ever go out on my tod first thing in the morning if I have something else one, not sure I'd fancy playing a "proper" round on my jack.

Have no problem with going out for a round on my own. Great for clearing the head and working ont he game in real conditions. I usually play two balls from around the greens and work on my short game

Golf is definately a social game but, and it's a big but, last Tuesday j played on my own which is the first time ice done this in around 4 years, it was awesome! 16 holes of piece and quiet alone with your own thoughts on a sunny evening.

Just back from a 2 ball with a pal, he had a dog if a 15 holes, and I hate too say at a few different times through back to how much I enjoyed last weeks solo round, is that wrong?

Yes, agreed.

I often play 9 with two balls and chipping/pitching around greens. Can't say I've played 18 on my own in a long time.

I've learned a lot from re-playing certain short game shots...I'm not an up-in-the-air type of short game player, but I do try these out on my own.

Regular Solo player here.
Sometimes it gets a bit dull, not taking the proverbial out of Fragger but it's normally quite relaxing.
I get to play at odd times so playing partners are not always available..

I play a lot of my golf on my own, its just the way I like it. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy playing in a group as well but really enjoy just being out there on my own. I think it is probably as I play a lot straight after work and it just allows me to unwind and clear my head of all the crap that I usually have to deal with during the day.

Had a solo round yesterday. Absolutely loved it. Nice weather, nobody following behind, lots of time to play 2 balls.
Chipped around the greens, lots of putting. I could feel my game improving all the time as there was no rush to press onto the next hole.

As already stated, I quite enjoy solo golf. A chance to practice, unwind, clear the head and basically brush up on the game.

I don't mind playing on my own, it gives me a chance to work on a few things or just have some time to myself. The best time is 1st thing on a summer morning before work, no better way to start the day.

Will happily go out on my own and gives me a chance to work on a few things especially when the course is empty.

Do though miss the banter and extra pressure that a playing partner adds

GBC

I go to the course on spec in the evenings, if there's anybody there then we'll hook up, otherwise I play on my own and find it a great way to practice.

If it gets slow then out with a second ball and twice the practice.

Dont think its something i would ever do,i enjoy the social element of golf too much. Plus if youre on your own theres nobody to bore by endlessly talking about the 7i youve just dropped 2ft from the pin or the 15ft putt youve just drained.

Can't stand it, and haven't done it for years. Golf without banter is not for me. I work from home by myself most of the time, so golf to me has to be sociable. I also like boring people, who can't get away.

;) ;)
