I'm currently on holiday with HID in Almeria, not far from Mojacar - and generous sort that she is, I may get a day off to play golf. Nearest three courses appear to be;

El Cortijo Grande
Valle del Este
Playa Macenas

Anyone played and of them and got any comments or recommendarions?

I loved Valle del este, played it twice a week for 3 weeks.

No silly hole, a little samey on the latter part of the back 9 but the finish is good.

Does it get busy? Or is there a reasonable chance of turning up & getting on?

It was in 2006... I just rocked up and went out as we were staying in a house on site

Was down there about 3 weeks ago , playing Valle de este ,

Good course with few tricky holes, and very scenic views, the fairways and greens were great ,but be warned if you dont hit the fairways be careful not to chip your clubs, as stones everywhere ! :angry:

If you can get a buggy !!

Also played el vale,desert springs and my very favorite Aguilon. If you can try and get there brilliant course.!
