All that you know about club design is wrong...

If that's the case, they should design, build and market some zero-MOI clubs.

Proof is then in how they perform - for a variety of skill levels.

While I'm certainly open-minded enough to recognise the benefit of new materials and manufacturing processes, I'm sceptical of revolutionary changes to a tool that's had over 500 years of evolutionary (and the occasional semi-revolutionary) improvement.

I've a (pretty much) zero moi putter training aid. It's very unforgiving!

I think that reading the article probably might have helped you. It is an interesting read, the point of which is that the claims you are attempting to publicise were by and large made up by a borderline lunatic who lied about everything to everyone.

And that putters perform better for us when we blindly believe that there is some miraculous science behind them.

I'm sticking with high MOI for the time being.

This isn't really an article about how the golf industry has lied to us and we should be aiming for clubs with zero MOI, but more an interesting tale of long cons, deceit and sadness.

Think you need to read it.

There isn't much that hasn't been thought about in golf manufacture and I am sure minimal or zero MOI has been considered. The fact that it has never been trumpeted or pushed would indicate there isn't much to it

I read most of it.. but then stopped as it would not tell me where to stand while my PPFC tee off...

May be a question for Mark King??

A friend sent me this link. I dont know the authenticity of it either. Unfortunately it is a bit too long for me to read, so had to skip pieces. Moral of the story.. The golf industry has been feeding us the wrong info. Instead of aiming to get a high MOI, we should be aiming to achieve zero MOI

or if you need a video.. http://youtu.be/QKY_dj_Wq1c
Sounds like a complete load of spherical objects to me! Anything with appreciable size and mass (such as a putter head) will always have have some moment of inertia that is more than zero. A high MoI putter head will resist twisting if the ball is hit off centre, exactly as Ping et all claim.

I've just watched the video. The Yar GX1 putter has a number of innovative design features, but low/zero MoI does not seem to be one of them, despite what McCord says. I would imagine with that large hole in the centre of the head, that it actually has a rather high Moment of Inertia!

Its well written but not much more than as said above. It does not really say much else than that, I was waiting for a load of science and got none. A very sad story indeed though.

You still not read the full article then? Dr V's suicide is mentioned in the original article.

Seems some people have far too much time on their hands. I never understood the psyche of someone sending death threats and abuse via Twitter for something that offends them!

i finally got around to reading the original article..had given up after the middle section became all rah-rah about the invention. Then saw the Gartland edit on the suicide and went back to finish the last section. Indeed sad..
