Aldi Golf Promotion

Aldi is not the best place for golf related products, but I have bought a few items there and after seeing this thread this afternoon went straight there and bought a base layer and jumper. Jumper does not look the greatest quality(£9.99) was not expecting it to be, but should do for a knock about. The base layer does feel good and will probably get another one. I have bought a golf waterproof suit from there at a peasantry £18 and believe it or not it did a better job than other cheapjob suits I have tried.

This is just another knife into the hearts of small independent retail businesses as what are effectively grocery supermarket chains now getting involved in other market sectors.

Soon, everything will be in supermarkets, on retail parks or ordered on-line and the independent small businesses that can offer help and advise over and above the products they sell, will become dinosaurs.

Support your club pro shop or golf specialist retail store (corporate or independent) and keep our sport out of supermarkets!

I can afford this though

So, can us from the South East get this right?

Aldi and Lidl are some kind of cheap market stall selling cheap and basic non branded, out of date, foodstuffs and non perishables at bargain basement prices to out of work, benefits grabbing people from north of Watford?

Thank goodness for Waitrose!

When I'm getting ripped off at £1.39 a litre for diesel I'm happy to save money else where. Gas and electricity and everything else is going up and up apart from my wages so if Aldi want to save me a few sheckles on golf gear good on them!

Next to your Burberry scarf. I will raise you a Naf-naf jumper.

Very uneducated view mate, thought better of you. Tut tut.

Pretty much everything is already bought in supermarkets, retail parks or online and at the end of the day, with the cost of living so expensive you can't blame people for saving money where they can.

Not sure I've ever set foot in Lidl or Aldi. Not out of prejudice but HID does the shopping and never goes there especially as we've a new (only a year old) Waitrose that does some superb food at a competitive price (as cheap as the other main stores). Might have a wander to the nearest one to see what the fuss is about

I had a Hugo Boss one of them in purple. I think I bought it on my Harrod's store card. :)

BTW - I have to agree , Aldi do great meat, and it's miles cheaper than Tescos and better quality.

Anyway, off to buy a Callaway driver in poundland - I wonder if it's genuine......

You can get Dunlop driver @ Sports Direct for £8

A couple of years ago I bought a new boxed pair of Crane shoes at a car boot.
They were very comfortable, light and waterproof. I imagined they were probably an expensive American make.
Got quite a surprise when I found out they were Lidl [or Aldi] brands.
