Re: Aldersey Green

Its a nice course with lots and lots of water so take plenty of balls!

You'll struggle to find value for money elsewhere but Pryors Hayes just along the road is also a nice track.

Cookelad on here was a member for a very long time, I have played it more than a few times. Good test of golf where you can't just smash driver on every hole. There's plenty of water and its great value. The only thing that lets it down for me is the greens tend to be a little slow. Pete in the kitchen makes a mean lunch but whatever you do don't play a round with him for money!

What he said! Take your A game (and a pocket full of balls!)

19th is cheap as chips and the food is top quality!

Used to play there every now and then but this was 10 years ago. It's a challenging track with plenty of water and a few tight holes but well worth a visit.

Re: Aldersey Green

Played here twice and really like the course

As stated in the previous posts, it is a tough course

Both times I have played, myself and my golfing partner have scored 9 and 10 on the same hole !!!

Re: Aldersey Green

No, its on the back 9 ... can't remember which hole

The thing is it's not even a difficult hole, just a long one

We must have some sort of mental block when it comes to that hole :-(

The 2 'long' holes on the back regularly rank in the top 3 or 4 for difficulty so either way you're not on your own there!

Most people go to Aldersey to play the 3rd, which IMO they've made too difficult by bringing the bunker around the front of the green, and the 15th (Sleepers)

Have fun and watch out for Jack if he finds you he never shuts up!

Re: Aldersey Green

played the course today! i was really impressed with the conditions of the course even if a couple of the greens were slow! alot of challenging par 3's the 3rd especially with the 15th and 8th being standout holes for me! good weather and a rather healthy 83 helped alot and wont hesitate to go back at £15 per head which is excellent value for the standard of course :) will be recommended to friends :)
