Find it difficult to believe the problems and queues at Airports especially Manchester. When we travel we much prefer Liverpool, more friendly, quieter. Used to say to Mrs3OTT before COVID how objectionable the staff were and unhelpful @Manchester. Seeing the videos or the local news only makes the situation worse.

The Chief Executive or equivalent has resigned today. Surely any business must realise after the majority of people have not been away for almost 2 years they want a holiday. It is called planning!
Mayor of GM is talking of bringing The Police in to help!

Who will do the Polices job while they work at an airport?

This is another example of the fine benefits of Brexit.

Manchester Airport have lost loads of staff due to Brexit, though theyve used covid as the excuse. During Covid they fired&rehired staff on lower wages.

Those EU workers who would usually do them lower paid jobs have got off.

Abysmal.

Flew from East Midlands last month, 3 out of about 10 X-ray machines were manned. Queues were long.
Ps flying out of Manchester Saturday morning ?

Just got back from a trip using Birmingham , no issues either in or out , plenty of security lanes open .
Even though i live quite close to Manchester i much prefer Birmingham or East Midlands , they just seem to be more user friendly than Manchester .
I dont think it matters how early you arrive Tashy, if the check in only opens 3 hours before flying you still hit the security lines i believe this
is where most of the issues are causing backlogs , hope i am wrong tho , good luck .

Ave just checked departures and we are the 8th flight out of terminal 2 Saturday morning, so hopefully not to busy. ?

Don't most airlines only open the luggage drop off desks 2 hours before the flight departs? If that's correct then arriving earlier to the airport won't work as you'll have to hang around waiting to drop off bags and still have to get through security after that.

Also heard a guy on the radio this morning saying that the delays at security were in part due to passengers having forgotten what they need to do when traveling abroad and going through security.

I went through Terminal 2 a couple of weeks ago and it was no worse than pre Covid and on arrival we were in the car in record time!

Last few times I have flown out of Manchester the check-in desks were not flight specific so open all the time but on saying that if you are so early in the morning you are waiting for them to open.

They were saying that last week as well. So many people are just incapable of doing what they should in regards to liquids etc

Did read last night that baggage reclaim was a shambles for folk returning, and some people were abandoning their cases and coming back the next day for them.

A royal PITA trying to find out if you have to fill out forms for under 12s to enter Spain. Everything seems so contradictory ?
