Aim point distance ...

I went to one of Jamie Donaldsons first aim point distance control lessons at Woburn this week.

I have always had my distance control as a weak point in my game. I found it very useful and well thought out. I would highly recommend checking out his Facebook page and grabbing a slot if your serious about improving your putting...

How many putts do you usually have per round?

How much was it?

What was the main point for the distance control?

Yeah it was really good.

Normally average 1.7 per hole.. was discussing that with Jamie and how number of putts isn't a very good marker on how good a putter you are.

It was £50, well worth it

Not done the speed course as yet but will do at some point. I had a 4% slope left to right uphill from 40 ft today and holed it for a birdie. It makes me laugh how the Aimpoint system works and you hole putts or get good reads where you are there or there abouts.

I agree, other factors are key, my averages the last time I looked were around 1.75 but that's totally distorted as I was more of a defensive player then and not going for greens in regulation and as such my pars and single puts were coming from being short of the green and chipping close to the pin, now I'm attacking my game more and being more positive in an attempt to get more GIR's, the pars are more satisfying but my putting averages are now much closer to 2 as I'm no longer pin hunting and just happy to be on the GIR and achieving a 2-put.

It's a tough transformation at the minute for me as the top of my bag isn't settled yet for those longer shots into the green, I'm still tinkering, but I'm hopeful that once I'm confident with what I have and can get those GIR's the putting averages will fall again from 2 down back to 1.75-ish as the odd birdie chances will hopefully present themselves.
